Update
With regret, we would like to inform you that IMWA 2020 in New Zealand has been postponed in response to disruption by the COVID-19 pandemic on global travel and economic conditions. The New Zealand based Organizing Committee has agreed with the IMWA Executive Committee that we will host an IMWA Conference in 2022 in New Zealand at a similar time of year and with similar offerings of short courses, field trips and keynote speakers. We will keep you updated.
Information
The IMWA 2020 organising committee are assessing the risk of COVID-19 to the IMWA 2020 Congress. We have a watching brief on the regulations that are implemented by the NZ government and globally with respect to
- freedom of international travel,
- enforced quarantine periods at border crossings,
- self-isolation requirements,
- the legality of gatherings,
- hygiene and infection prevention actions,
- other developments
If our watching brief changes to actions and response we will provide updates on this page of our website and via e-mail to registered delegates.
Our intention remains to host a world class with excellent short courses, a great speaking programme and interesting field trips. Hopefully this will be an event where we can all look back on coronavirus as something in the past and enjoy each others company freely.
If you are travelling internationally or would like further information on the current status of the New Zealand response to COVID-19, please check this link. You can find the link at the end of this page as well.
Best regards
Dr James Pope
